The clock ticks 5 when she grabs her things and gets off work. Once she gets out of the elevator in the underground floor she walks to her customized matte black hyundai verna. As she gets in and fasten her seatbelt ,the engine roars to life she starts driving off to her apartment.
It was 6:16 when she finally enters her apartment. It took more time than usual due to heavy traffic. She walks to her bedroom to see Lavanya rummaging through her wardrobe which was something she already expected.
"The traffic was heavier today."- Anika mutters as she drops on the edge of the bed with a heavy sigh putting the bag next to her. No Hi . No hello. Not even a hug like how people who meet after days do.
People who see eachother daily greets eachother. But not these two. It's their thing. They don't greet or hug. Their conversation never had a start or an ending.
"I see. I was actually planning to call you." Lavanya mutters as she pulls out a few clothes out of the wardrobe.
Anika eyes widen seeing Lavanya pull out a heavy embroidered salwar suit out. "Hold on. Why are you packing that? Put it back."
"Nope. I'm not listening to you. We are going to flaunt in the wedding."
"Seems like you have too many plans for Anna's wedding. Huh?" (Anna- big brother/elder brother)
"Obviously. If it was someone else I would have put some random kurta and leggings. But it's our Anna's. So. If I'm wearing then you're wearing too."
Anika looks at her in defeat. She can say no to anyone. But not to Lavanya. Not to her favorite cousin. " You know I can't say no. Fine then. You pack I'll go and cook us something for us to eat on the way."
Lavanya looks at her offended when she stands up to head to the kitchen. She yells tossing a kurta on the bed, "what! Nooo!"
Anika looks at her outburst amused, with a raised eyebrow. "What? What no? We have enough time to cook and eat and leave. It barely takes three and half hours to Puducherry. Maybe one more hour for us to navigate the farmhouse... Unless there's no traffic."
"Now you sound like our mums. Well you atleast you didn't say let's pack and eat it on the way."
"You want to eat outside?" Anika asks to confirm.
Lavanya huffs exasperated, being a bit dramatic self as she resumes pack the clothes, "Obviously! We eat at home everyday. Let's eat out atleast while we travel."
Anika hums convinced," Agreed . But you know. You're a doctor. You're supposed to say people to eat healthy, home food. Not from dhaba."
Lavanya rolls her eyes , "I know, I know. That's why I'm trying to eat outside food whenever possible.", she sighs, "Cuz , once I become a full time doctor, I had to start saying people stop eating outside food. So yeah."
Anika chuckles at her explanation and stands up, " Fine. Finish packing bags I'll go and clean the kitchen and living area."
Lavanya finishes packing the bag while Anika cleans the living room and the kitchen making sure everything is organized.

After 4 hours they finally enter into Puducherry. City is still alive with people and vehicle roaming on the roads different buildings and malls still filled with people. A crime podcast is running on the car speakers. Lavanya is looking out of the window glancing at the people and infrastructures while listening to the podcast.
Anika speaks as she focuses on the road, "Still can't believe Rudra is married and divorced for seven years. I was imagining him as that single hot detective."
Lavanya looks at her still leaning to the window, "Yeah...But it's okay. He's having a good life with good wife?"
Anika glances her way a second then deadpans, "divorced. He's divorced. seven years ago!"
".....Yah. Right. Sorry."
"Where should we go now? Did you ask the resort name?"
"They booked farmhouse, not a resort."
"Woah. I didn't know. Do you know the address?" Anika asks still focusing on the road.
"Nope. Wait. I'll ask anna to share location. That'll be easy.", Lavanya pulls up her chat with her brother.
